Karma O’Neill

Alderwoman, Ward 2

About Karma O’Neill

I want to continue to serve as Alderwoman for Ward 2 because I believe city government is about showing up for people, listening to them, and working every day to make their lives better.

I know that the challenges facing us—whether it’s economic stability, education, public safety, or trust in the city administration—are complex. But they are not unattainable. What it takes is transparency, persistence, and a willingness to put the common good above personal gain. That’s the standard I intend to hold myself to.

For me, running for Alderwoman is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about being the most effective: turning concerns into solutions, ideas into action, and promises into results. My desire to serve comes from wanting to see real progress in the places we live, work, and raise our families—and knowing that progress is possible when leaders stay connected to the people they represent.

My commitment is to the people I represent—to listen closely, act responsibly, and work tirelessly to improve the quality of life in our community.

My vision is simple: a government that listens, responds, and delivers. I will work every day to earn and keep the trust of those I serve, because progress depends on a strong partnership between leaders and the people they represent.

I am running for office not to be a voice above others, but to be a voice among them—amplifying concerns, advancing solutions, and ensuring that no one is left behind.I have lived and worked in Annapolis since 1993. During that time, I have come to love Annapolis not only for its wealth of opportunity, but for its sense of community and its wonderfully diverse culture. As your alderwoman I will work with you to make our community even better.

Please join me in my efforts to improve the quality of life for all our Ward 2 neighbors. I look forward to meeting every one of you as we work together for the betterment of the neighborhood we call home.

About Karma

I moved to Annapolis shortly after graduating from Roanoke College in 1993. I have lived in the Ward 2 community for 20 years with my husband, Sean O’Neill, and our two children, Carter, Jillian and our dog, Roxy.

Both of our children have spent their K-12 years in the public schools of our neighborhood, where they thrived. I have worked to promote, understand, and celebrate the diversity of our community while striving to make the system work better for all of us.

Over the past 15 years I have operated my own business in Annapolis, KO Events, and I am grateful that my work allows me the flexibility to serve the community.
